Dexter Fowler will be honored by his alma mater 13 years after graduating.

Fowler, a 2004 graduate of Milton High School who now plays for the St. Louis Cardinals, will be inducted into his high school’s hall of fame. The induction will happen at halftime of Milton’s football game against Etowah High School on Friday night.

The World Series champ will be joined in the hall of fame class with Leon Cole Jr., Adam Sliwinski, Glenn Stephens, Allie Ware and Thomas Yackley. Kickoff for Milton's game is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and an induction ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in Milton's auditorium.

The school’s announcement of the hall of fame class didn’t mention if Fowler would attend.

At Milton, Fowler had a batting average of .457 with 23 steals and 14 home runs in his senior season. He had offers from the University of Miami and Harvard Universities, but opted for jump straight to the pros instead and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 14th round of the 2004 draft.

After making his MLB debut in 2008, Fowler is in his 10th year of big league ball. The 6-foot-5 centerfielder won a championship and made the all-star team with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, and signed with the Cardinals this past offseason.

At 31 years old, he's hitting .255 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs through 106 games with the Cardinals. Fowler is currently dealing with an injury to his left knee and hasn't played since Sept. 9.
