A man accused of murder in the shooting death of a MARTA rider has been indicted, officials said Friday.

Chauncey Daniels allegedly boarded an eastbound train at the West Lake MARTA station and shot several people, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Zachariah Hunnicutt, 38, was killed and three other people on the train suffered gunshot wounds in the April 13 incident, Fulton County District Attorney’s Office spokesman Dontaye Carter said.

Surveillance video from inside the MARTA train car shows Daniels walk toward Hunnicutt and begin shooting.

The victims were struck by bullets as they tried to run away, Carter said.

“All four victims fell to the ground after being hit and Hunnicutt attempted to cover his head with his hands,” Carter said. “The video shows Daniels walk up and continue shooting at Hunnicutt until either the gun jammed or he ran out of bullets.”

Daniels was caught as he ran through the emergency exit gate, and during a struggle with the arresting officer a 9mm gun fell from Daniels to the ground, Carter said.
