DeKalb County police are investigating after a man was found dead overnight in the breezeway of an apartment community.

The 38-year-old was shot at the top of the stairs at 6603 Old Singleton Road and then fell down, police said Tuesday afternoon. Officers found him at the foot of the steps at the complex, which is off Memorial Drive near Memorial Drive Presbyterian.

The name of the victim is being withheld until his next of kin is notified, police said.

“There are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing,” police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.
