A 23-year-old man was found dead of at least one gunshot wound to the chest, Atlanta police said.

Major Adam Lee said Atlanta police officers responded to a shots fired call shortly after 6:30 p.m. at 1163 Metropolitan Parkway.

When officers arrived, Lee said they found a dead man on a cut-through path behind an apartment building and near a gas station. Emergency medical service workers arrived to confirm the man was dead.

Witnesses told police two people were arguing shortly before shots were fired.

“Another individual appeared to be having a some sort of disagreement with him right before the incident and pulled out a gun and shot him,” Lee said.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone with any information to call CrimeStoppers at 404-577-8477 or visit crimestoppersatlanta.org.
