Police aren’t saying much in the case of a recent homicide, but arrested a man Tuesday on murder and gang-related charges.

Kenslo Damonse Hester, 22, of Monroe, is accused in the Aug. 21 shooting death of 20-year-old Lewis Palmer Jones Outlaw Jr, police said.

Previously, Monroe police Chief Keith Glass said for two years detectives have been focusing on gang-related drug and gun crimes in the city.

Monroe is about 46 miles east of Atlanta in Walton County.

The department’s goal was, “to deter and prevent this kind of senseless violence,” Glass said.

The investigation into Outlaw’s death is ongoing and more arrests are expected in this case. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please contact Detective D. Powell at dpowell@monroega.gov or 770-266-5186.
