The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to amend the city’s noise ordinance to address concerns about late-night fireworks. The revised amendment allows fireworks from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. any night, and additionally from 9 p.m. to midnight Jan. 1, July 3, July 4, and Dec. 31. On New Year’s Eve fireworks may also continue until 1 a.m.

City officials noted this revision concerning fireworks is dictated by state regulations. Local governments are not permitted to enact any legislation to prohibit fireworks.
