The Lawrenceville City Council voted Tuesday to set the qualifying fees for city council elections this year at $216. Qualifying fees must be set and published by Feb. 1 of each election year in accordance with state law.

Council positions currently occupied by council members Robert Clark (Post 3) and Keith Roche (Post 4) will be up for election this year. Any candidates wishing to run for one of the open city council positions must pay a qualifying fee representing 3 percent of the current salary.

The qualifying period for these November municipal elections will be later this year.
