Two contestants who’ve attended Kennesaw State University have won preliminary awards for swimsuit and talent leading up to Miss Georgia finals.
Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom Brooke Doss tied for the preliminary talent award with Miss Paulding County Michaela Heide on Thursday. Doss performed a jazz dance en pointe to “All That Jazz” from the musical “Chicago.” The Kennesaw State graduate combined her high level classical ballet skills with theatrical Broadway moves in the winning routine.

Doss also won the preliminary award for lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit on Wednesday night. Winning the award in both preliminary categories is an elusive achievement in pageantry, indicating a contestant has the potential to do extremely well in the final night of competition.
Heide, a 19-year-old Kennesaw State student, performed a classical ballet en pointe routine set to music from the opera Carmen. She moved fluidly back and forth across the stage, casually lifting her leg above her head and spinning in endless pirouettes.
Miss Southeast Georgia Alyssa Beasley won the preliminary award for lifestyle and fitness. The rising Kennesaw State sophomore also won the preliminary talent award Tuesday night.
There was also a tie for the teen talent award. Miss Acworth’s Outstanding Teen Rayven Bailey and Miss International City’s Outstanding Teen Annie Swan shared the award. Bailey performed the classical aria “Je Veux Vivre” from “Romeo et Juliette.” Swan tapped to a jazzed-up version of “Hit the Road Jack.”
The talent award also made Swan a double preliminary winner. She tied for the preliminary evening gown and on-stage question award on Tuesday with Miss Greater Atlanta’s Outstanding Teen Rory Pan. Thursday night, Miss Stone Mountain Yellow Daisy’s Outstanding Teen charmed the judges and won the preliminary evening gown and on-stage question award.
Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen will be crowned Friday night, with the competition starting at 7 p.m. Miss Georgia finals will start at 7 p.m. Saturday. You can watch both for free courtesy of Columbus' WRBL-TV. Find out everything you need to know here.
