Since Friday police in Johns Creek have continued to search for a man who robbed a liquor store with a knife.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot, heavyset white male, police said. He wore a gray long-sleeve shirt, black pants, a black cap with a red emblem, a blue handkerchief over his face and gray gloves.

He left Fairway Package on 9730 Medlock Bridge Road in Duluth with $120, police said. Security cameras caught the man driving off in a black GMC Envoy.

Police responded to a robbery call around 4:30 p.m. Two witnesses reported observing the man walk behind the counter, threaten the cashier of the store with a knife and run out with the money.

Police said the cashier initially thought it was all a prank.

The cashier was serving one witness at the counter when the crime occurred and the other witness was in a car in the parking lot, police said. The two witnesses tried to follow the suspect’s vehicle in an attempt to get his tag number, but lost sight of his car around State Bridge Road.

No arrests have yet been made and the case is still active.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Johns Creek Police Department's tip line at 678-474-1610 or email JCPDTipLine@JohnsCreekGA.gov.
