UPDATE: The restaurant was re-inspected Nov. 21 and received a 99/A.
ORIGINAL STORY (published Nov. 14): A vegan restaurant in Sandy Springs failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting "multiple packages of tofu stored at temperatures over 41 degrees."
The Loving Hut location at 220 Hammond Dr. NE scored a 64/U following the Thursday evaluation. The chain has restaurants in 14 states, including one in Norcross.
According to the report, there were "multiple potentially hazardous food products not datemarked whatsoever—these foods were held past 24 hours."
Officials also reported a soiled microwave and a pot of rice stored directly on top of another pot of rice; the rice was in direct contact with the bottom of the pan.
An employee reached Monday said the restaurant had no comment.
Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
