As Sprouts Farmers Market prepares to give out a bunch of free stuff at its opening in Tucker next Wednesday, some of its neighbors are announcing opening dates.

The massive Tucker Meridian development is located at the intersection of Lavista Road and Northlake Parkway, with at least eight popular chains planned.

Here are the tentative opening dates for some, announced Wednesday:

  • DSW: April 28
  • Dick's Sporting Goods: May 17
  • Hobby Lobby: May (firm date not yet revealed)
  • Ross Dress for Less: June 19

“Meridian is a huge plus for the city of Tucker,” said Community and Economic Development Director John McHenry.

A new light is going in to help ease traffic. It’ll be on Northlake Parkway and is scheduled for installation the last week of April.

In 2014, a wave of social media users, athletes and notable figures -- including Bill O’Brien, center, then the coach of the Houston Texans -- joined the ice bucket challenge. Participants in the viral campaign raised money to fight ALS and drew attention to the cause by pouring buckets of ice water over their heads and posting the videos online.
