An economic development effort code-named “Project Spinoza” has won for Atlanta the headquarters of Global Payments, the transactions payments processing firm.

Global is to receive a $75,000 Invest Atlanta grant to relocate its chief office from Sandy Springs.

Atlanta officials said Global had offers from three other states. It will invest $18 million in its new headquarters and bring 150 jobs to the city, for an estimated economic impact of $46.7 million.

The City Council on Tuesday approved an ordinance authorizing the $75,000 grant.
