Residents will have a chance to comment on proposals to improve Ga. 20 in Forsyth and Cherokee counties at public information open houses scheduled in December in Cumming and Ball Ground.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has set the fourth round of open houses for 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at Otwell Middle School, 605 Tribble Gap Road, Cumming, and the same hours Dec. 15 at Calvary Baptist Church, 137 Hightower Road (Ga. 369), Ball Ground.

A “concept alternative” will be presented for widening Ga. 20 between I-575 in Canton and North Corners Parkway in Cumming. “Through our initial public involvement efforts, the overwhelming desire to keep the project located along existing (State Route) 20 was heard loud and clear,” GDOT says.

There will be no formal presentation. Displays at both locations will be identical. Questions? Contact Nicole Law, GDOT project manager, at SR20Improvements@dot.ga.gov
