Johns Creek is the second safest city in Georgia, according to a recent study.
And four other cities in north Fulton County rank in the top 10 of the Peach State’s most secure places to call home.
The list is from a website called SafeHome, an organization that ranks security companies, researches home security, and says it is “dedicated to making communities safer.” It’s list for Georgia only considered cities with at least 30,000 residents.

Peachtree City took the top spot and Johns Creek finished second. Milton was third, Roswell fifth, Alpharetta sixth, and Sandy Springs was eighth.
SafeHome ranked the cities by using something it calls “Safety Score” which considers the FBI’s latest report of how many and what crimes occur in the city over a year, the city’s crime trends, the number of law enforcement officers compared to population, population density, population trends, unemployment rate, median income and education level. The factors carrying the most weight in the formula are the rates of murder, robbery and rape.

To be fair, the site’s data is a little dated, as it used FBI crime stats from 2015 and U.S. Census info from 2010.
Checking in at second place, Johns Creek had 33 violent and 542 property crimes reported in 2015. Milton, which had a population of 37,665 in 2010, had just 12 violent crimes reported in 2015.
SafeHome made a list measuring cities all across the United States, too. On that list, Johns Creek was 35th.
