As severe weather battered parts of metro Atlanta on Wednesday, DeKalb County was mostly safe.
The county reported late in the afternoon that only three trees and a couple power lines went down during the storm, which led to tornadoes elsewhere. The trees and lines were on private property, Elise Roberts, DeKalb spokeswoman, said.
But officials are bracing for more falling trees, due to more forecasted rain.
"We are on standby," she said. "With all the heavy rain, the ground is very saturated."
