The bond hearing was rescheduled for Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. after a misunderstanding about whether the mother would be transported from jail to the hearing. Her attorney wanted her there but hadn't requested it.

A mother charged with murder in the death of her 8-month-old daughter in Brookhaven is seeking release from jail Friday.

Shavone Whitehead's daughter, Kamonie, died two weeks after she stopped breathing at the Microtel Inn on Aug. 1. A detective testified in September that Whitehead had said she and her boyfriend, Edward Wilson, sometimes disciplined the child because she was "crying all the time." Sometimes they used a belt, police said.

Wilson, who allegedly complained to coworkers about the crying, has already been denied bond.

A clear picture of what happened the night the child was injured hasn't been released. But police said a security camera at the hotel showed Wilson suddenly come out of the room in "panic mode" looking for the child's mother shortly before calling 911.

The child's body showed signs of past abuse, police said.

Whitehead goes before Superior Court Judge Asha Jackson at 9 a.m. Friday to seek bond.
