A 26-year-old woman, who may be disabled, reported a sexual assault at the hands of a Kroger employee in the heart of Decatur.
The accused man is an employee who has been suspended, according to Kroger.
City officers were called to the Commerce Drive grocery store around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The police department has been tight-lipped and hasn’t revealed exactly what is alleged to have happened in the assault. The report says only that she was injured and sought medical help, and that she did not know the suspect.
The report lists charges for the suspect: rape and exploitation of a disabled adult. But it isn’t clear if he has been formally charged.
He hadn’t been arrested by Thursday afternoon.
