Cops: Mercedes, Rolex taken in New Year’s Eve theft at N. Fulton home

A 2016 white Mercedes Benz, cash, jewelry, electronics and other items were stolen from a 61-year-old woman’s Sandy Springs home on New Year’s Eve.

Police said the crime occurred sometime between 9:15 p.m. on Sunday and 1:11 a.m. on Monday. No arrests have been made and the case is still active.

The Mercedes was recovered shortly after the crime was reported. It was found “not far” from the scene, police said, and had minor damage.

Police said entry into the residence on Mount Paron Road was not forced. Among items stolen, according to the police report, were three credit cards, two bags, a rice cooker, silverware, a juicer, a coffee grinder, a Vitamix, an Xbox gaming system, a bottle of brandy, a sound mixer, a Rolex watch valued at $10,000 and $5,100 in cash.

Including the car, police estimate the loss to be $200,000 for the victim.

Police took photos at the scene and found a Styrofoam cup.
