In his second week on the job with Brookhaven police, Officer I. Bell found himself on an unusual call.

A dentist was booting an elderly woman from the office, reportedly saying she was being difficult and he didn’t want to treat her.

“Upon arrival, he was introduced to Mary Anna who advised she had a painful loose tooth and wanted it removed,” the police department said in a post telling the story on Facebook.

After meeting the woman, Bell, the force’s newest cop, decided to help.

“Mary Anna was confused about the conflict,” police said. “So, Officer Bell scheduled her an appointment with another dentist in Brookhaven.”

She followed him to the Town Brookhaven area, and he  walked her to the new appointment.
