Cobb County fees have increased for building and zoning categories as of Saturday.

With the 2017 budget and increased revenue from these fee hikes, the Cobb Community Development Agency will create 20 jobs.

New jobs will include a business license compliance official, communications coordinator, personnel specialist, systems support specialist, Development and Inspection Division manager, economic development specialist, landscape architect, nuisance abatement and housing code coordinator, public service technician III, zoning analyst, two plans examiners, four code enforcement officers and four construction inspectors.

Under the Development and Inspections Division, increases are:

  • $125 to $200 for site plan reviews for residential and commercial
  • $10 per lot to $20 per lot, with a $200 minimum, for residential land disturbance permit fees
  • $50 minimum to $200 minimum for commercial land disturbance permit fees
  • up to $50 plus $50 for each additional building plan review after the permit issuance
  • $4.50 to $4.75 per $1,000 for residential building permit fees
  • $6 to $6.25 per $1,000 for commercial building permit fee
  • up to $50 for residential and commercial certificates of occupancy
  • $25 to $50 and $50 to $75 for re-inspection fees

Under the Zoning Division, increases are:

  • $9 to $15 per zoning sign
  • $50 to $75 for off-premise outdoor signs
