A grand jury has indicted a pair accused of breaking into 161 vehicles throughout metro Atlanta to steal guns.

Cobb County court documents show a grand jury made the decision Thursday to move forward the case of Elisha Ross and Ayana Forest, respectively ages 22 and 25 when they were arrested July 31. They were indicted on two racketeering counts and more than 45 charges of entering an automobile.

Their arrests were announced during a multi-agency press conference that included the FBI.

Police say the Lawrenceville duo hit cars in nearly two dozen jurisdictions, including: Smyrna, Powder Springs, Acworth, Alpharetta, and Roswell along with Cobb, GwinnettForsyth, Paulding and Clayton counties.

Authorities said the pair stole from more than 44 locations, including several Cobb and Smyrna fire stations, since January.

“It’s very discouraging,” Cobb fire’s deputy chief Bill Johnson said at the time of his firefighters. “They’re out doing their job, serving the citizens and protecting them the best they can, only to find out and get back from a call and wake up in the morning, and their cars have been broken into and personal belongings stolen.”

Their next court dates were not listed in the court’s online database.
