Golf enthusiasts and budding backswingers, the time has come.

GolfTEC, a golf instruction service, is set to open its new facility on Saturday at par 62 Fox Creek Golf Club in Smyrna.

The company boasts 200 centers around the world but this will be the first at a golf course, said GOLFTEC spokeswoman Rachel Holt.

The Fox Creek facility will have “Motion Measurement Technology” that lets students see video and motion measurement together so a teacher can help them with their swing in real time.

There are different packages, but a swing evaluation costs $125, Holt said.

She said currently there are such GOLFTEC facilities in Buckhead, Cumberland and Roswell.

Fox Creek is a public club managed by Alpharetta-based Mosaic Clubs & Resorts, but they do have a player pass program and those folks are eligible for discount when the facility opens.

The golf course, located at 1501 Windy Hill Road, opened in 1985 and also has a 50-tee grass driving range.

The grand opening is set for Saturday, May 12, and runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

GOLFTEC staff will provide coaching demonstrations, and folks attending the event will receive a $25 certificate to use at the facility.
