The construction of City Springs — Sandy Springs' mixed use development — is continuing.
And later this month, residents will be offered the chance to get a sneak peek at the center that will contain city offices, a performing arts space, a studio theater, retail and residential spots, and much more.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, the city will host tours and take residents through the site for free. The entrance for the tour is at Mt. Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Circle, in front of the Holder construction trailers.

Officials from the city will lead the tours. As the project site remains an active construction area, tours will be limited to the main floor, including the performing arts center, studio theater, main office lobby and city green.
Tour groups will be limited to 20 individuals, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. No flip-flops are allowed to be worn on the site.
Last week, workers improved the view at City Springs by removing the last utility pole. Mayor Rusty Paul — who is seeking reelection and is running unopposed — was at the site to see the pole removed.

As part of the City Springs project, all utilities were buried underground, including the removal of power poles which surrounded the property area.
Construction on the 14-acre site began in January 2016, and it is expected to be completed summer 2018.
“While it is not typical to host mid-construction tours on a project of this size, City Springs belongs to the community,” Paul said in a statement. “We are excited to bring in our citizenry to showcase its progress.”
