Buford will hold a general municipal election this fall to fill the expired terms of City Commissioner, Post 2 to succeed L. Chris Burge, City Commissioner, Post 3 to succeed Michael Smith, and two School Board Members to succeed Bruce Fricks and Pat Pirkle.

The qualifying period for any of these four positions will begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 21 through 4:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at Buford City Hall, 2300 Buford Highway. The qualifying fee is $35.

Registration to vote in this election ends at 5 p.m., Oct. 10. The election will be held between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 7. If necessary, a run-off election will be held on Dec. 5.
