An Atlanta-area resident has been named PETA's 2017 “Sexiest Vegan Next Door.”

Arnisha Keaton, 25, was one of 10 national female finalists — the only one from Georgia — vying for the title. Hundreds of entrants applied for the contest.

Keaton, a remote train conductor and Army Reserve chemist, won a free vacation for two to Maui, Hawaii, from Humane Travel.

Keaton snagged the title "for being an unstoppable force for animals everywhere she goes," PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said.

San Antonio firefighter Aaron Gaunt won the male category.

PETA selected the winners based on several factors, including vote count, a social media entry and questionnaire. The winners were announced Wednesday.
