The Atlanta Streetcar will run a modified schedule for New Year’s Eve to accommodate large crowds expected to attend holiday events in the downtown area. On Dec. 31 the streetcar will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and then will resume normal operating hours on Jan., running from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Atlanta Streetcar is the first transit system in the metropolitan Atlanta area to offer riders a smartphone app to purchase fares and track real-time arrivals. The mobile app provides passengers a convenient way to pay for public transportation when visiting restaurants, shops and Atlanta’s world-class tourist destinations, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center and Historic Site, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Georgia Aquarium, and the College Football Hall of Fame.

All Atlanta residents and visitors are invited to download the app from Google Play and the Apple app store and make the Streetcar part of their holiday plans.
