Two Atlanta colleges have been ranked by the Peace Corps as some of 2017's top volunteer-producing historically black colleges and universities.

Spelman College has the second most undergraduate alumni serving as volunteers overseas: 11 to Howard University's 18, according to a news release. It's the second consecutive year that Howard, Spelman and Florida A&M University held the top three spots.

Morehouse College, Central State and Prairie View earned a three-way tie for the fifth spot, all with three volunteers serving.

Spelman also appeared on Peace Corps' national list of top volunteer-producing colleges and universities this year, ranking seventh among small schools. Ninety-four Spelman alumnae have served with the Peace Corps since 1961.
