A north Fulton development received top honors at the annual Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit Thursday.

City Springs, the new town center and municipal complex for Sandy Springs, won the Community Redevelopment Award.

The summit, presented by Georgia Power, brings together "more than 200 developers, commercial real estate brokers, elected officials, business leaders and community development experts," according to a news release.

Partnership Gwinnett and The Council for Quality Growth also announced the following 2016 awards during the summit held at the Studio Movie Grill in Duluth:

· Neighborhood Redevelopment Award – Parsons Alley, Duluth

· Regional Redevelopment Award – Suburban Plaza, DeKalb County

· Redevelopment Champion of the Year – co-winners Denise Starling, executive director at Livable Buckhead, and Jim Durrett, executive director at the Buckhead Community Improvement District

Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash said the summit is an opportunity to discuss current industry trends in metro Atlanta.

“Redevelopment plays a major role in the vitality and prosperity of our region,” Nash said.
