DeKalb County police said I-285 reopened after noon Friday following a few hours of investigation into a recent crash that killed three people.
The closures were on the eastbound side of the road before the Moreland Avenue ramp.
Cousins Marshall Hill, 31, of Decatur and Phillip Smith, 32, of Lithonia died in the Feb. 18 crash, along with Mariah Page, 22, of Decatur.
Police have said they are considering whether racing was a factor in the wreck, which involved two Chevrolet Camaros, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Witness Ahmad Baldwin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution it appeared the cars could be racing, but he wants police to determine that.
He struggled to comprehend the scene, where the cousins were ejected into the road, and the young woman died in the other car.
“I was literally surrounded by death and I was the only one who was OK,” Baldwin said last week.
Also trapped with the young woman was Kane Danger of Decatur, who was hospitalized after the crash.
