A new manufacturing facility will bring 200 jobs and a $6 million investment to Gwinnett County, state and local officials announced Tuesday.
Germany-based Carcoustics will manufacture “solution-oriented acoustic and thermally effective components for the automotive industry” at its 130,000-square-foot facility on Thompson Mill Road in Buford, according to a news release.
“Georgia offers automotive industry suppliers such as Carcoustics the resources necessary to compete worldwide,” Gov. Nathan Deal said in the news release. “By choosing Georgia, Carcoustics will enjoy the benefits of a well-trained workforce, a thriving automotive industry and the nation’s top business environment.”

Officials projected that the Carcoustics facility will create 200 new jobs over the next five years. Those jobs will include manufacturing positions.
“We are proud to welcome such a noteworthy company as Carcoustics to Gwinnett County,” Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash said. “They are joining a strong and growing base of international companies who have found Gwinnett to have the ideal mix of talent, resources and location.”
Gwinnett County has had mixed luck in the business world in recent months.
International insurance firm Crawford and Company announced in March that it would move 500 jobs from the Atlanta area to Peachtree Corners. A few weeks before that, Gwinnett staple WestRock announced it would close its longtime Norcross office and move about 800 jobs to the Sandy Springs area.
