The city of Lawrenceville announced Thursday plans for a massive, $200 million “urban-style” development near its downtown.

The project from George Berkow Inc. and Novare Group will be built on 32 acres south of the Lawrenceville Lawn. Plans call for it to include more than 600 residential units — including three- and four- story apartments and townhomes, as well as detached single-family homes — and 15,000 square feet of retail space.

“The city’s vision is to realize the potential that exists for a walkable urban environment from Gwinnett government facilities to city Hall, from the square to the police station and everything in between,” City Manager Chuck Warbington said.
