Proposed business projects and DeKalb's government are starting to find to find ways around the county's sewer system limitations.
DeKalb officials have approved the first sewer action plans that allow new development without increasing the risk of sewer spills.
The county recently gave the go-ahead to the proposed Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Center for Advanced Pediatrics in Brookhaven, and to 39 planned townhomes in Chamblee called Ashford Place.
Both developments will pay to install underground tanks to store sewage until it’s safe to release into the county’s system.
