After DeKalb County Sheriff Jeff Mann finishes serving his 40-day suspension, he will likely return to office for the remaining 3½ years of his term.

There are few ways to remove sheriffs from office, meaning that Mann might retain his job even if he's convicted of indecency and obstruction charges. Mann pleaded not guilty earlier this month.

Gov. Nathan Deal suspended Mann last week after an investigation by two sheriffs and Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr.

He still faces a July 7 trial following his arrest for allegedly exposing himself in Piedmont Park, then running from a police officer.
