Cobb County government offices will close at noon today due to snow and rain.

All county libraries are also closing at noon and will monitor conditions before deciding whether to reopen on Saturday, according to a statement from the county.

The transportation department is continuing to monitor the situation and treat roads. Crews have already spread 2,800 pounds of brine on Cobb roads, the statement said.

The announcement came shortly after the Cobb and Marietta school districts announced classes would end early.

High schools were scheduled to close at 11:30; middle schools at 12:30 and elementary schools at 1:30.

Projected snowfall amounts remain at 2 to 4 inches in metro Atlanta.
