Several schools in metro Atlanta have won Highest Performing or Greatest Gains school awards from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.
The honors are awarded to schools for academic performance. Highest Performing schools must earn a three-year average achievement score on the state's College and Career Ready Performance Index that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile, meaning it's better than 92 percent of schools in the state. Greatest Gains schools must earn a three-year average "progress" score on the CCRPI that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile.
Statewide, 218 public schools in 53 districts received one or both awards. That’s 31 more schools than last year.
