Clayton County Public Schools is holding a back-to-school event on Aug. 5, two days before students report for the first day of classes.

The Back to School Bash will take place at Southern Crescent Stadium, 6231 Garden Walk Blvd. in Riverdale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Officials say the bash is a community event where families can take part in free health screenings and view exhibits on various district functions. Food also will be provided.

Fulton County Schools held an event Saturday to for their community. DeKalb County School District officials initially announced a back-to-school convocation for district employees, but said in a press release Monday they will also hold a mental wellness rally for families Thursday.
