Atlanta Public Schools will reopen Monday after a snow storm pounded the metro region, the district announced Sunday.

The school district, in a statement released just before 5 p.m. Sunday, said it is able to resume “normal school operations” Monday after reviewing its buildings, power, staffing, roads and weather.

District spokesman Ian Smith said as of 5 p.m. Sunday that power had been restored to all buildings. One school had remained without power earlier Sunday.

The district, like other metro Atlanta schools, held class on Friday as the storm brought snow to the Atlanta area, but then dismissed students an hour early.
