A small plane crashed while taking off in Cherokee County on Sunday morning.

The plane went down about 10 a.m. in a forested area adjacent to the private Air Acres runway on Arnold Mill Road, according to the Cherokee Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.

The pilot and the other person in the plane both suffered minor injuries and were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

The men’s names were not released.
