Jim Reason is a AP History Teacher and Head Coach at Duluth High School. He has been teaching since 1994 and coaching since 1989. He graduated from the University of West Georgia, and has been committed to serving his students and athletes ever since. His work ethic, teaching and coaching styles are depicted by his favorite quote, “Be pleased, but never be satisfied.” He wants his students and athletes to aim to be the best they can be and never settle in complacency.
Jim’s mentors, Bill Chadwick and Dana King, are responsible for molding him into the educator and coach he is today. As History Teachers and coaches, not only did they install a love of history in Jim and gave him the confidence to teach AP History, but they also taught him a lot about the coach he aspired to be and has successfully become.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is proud to announce a new community recognition program – the AJC Celebrating Teachers Awards. We believe the very best of the best are worth honoring and giving them the recognition they deserve. This will be a moment of significant pride for the honoree, their family and school.
