Police have identified a driver in the hit-and-run collision that killed a 13-year-old Coweta County boy Monday night.
Cody Landry, 17, went with his mother to the Coweta County sheriff’s office Tuesday after hearing reports of the incident, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Mike Adcock said.
Landry said he thought he’d hit a deer, Adcock said. But investigators examined his 2005 white Ford F-150 truck and the debris at the scene and connected the vehicle to the collision.
Parker Madliak was found about 1 a.m. Tuesday along Welcome Sargent Road in Newnan.
No one is in custody, Adcock said, and charges are pending.
The investigation is continuing.
