Police are searching for car thieves who stole a Dodge Charger with a child inside Tuesday morning.

Pete Zyskowski had just started his car at his home along Glenwood Place in southeast Atlanta when he went back inside, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Lukasz Sajdak said.

But right as Pete Zyskowski walked into the home to grab his coffee, police say four men believed to be in their mid-20s got inside the car with Zyskowski’s son, Ezra.

Ezra Zyskowski, 10, who was seated in the back seat, was able to escape before the thieves drove away from the home, police said.

“The guy jumps into the car and I said, ‘What the heck!’ And I just jumped out,” Ezra Zyskowski told Channel 2 Action News.

According to Channel 2, the men jumped out of their car and jumped into the Dodge Charger.

Pete Zyskowski said he’s relieved his son is safe, but the incident left him “shell shocked.”

“(I’m) kind of angry about the whole thing,” he said.

No arrests have been made in the incident.
