All DeMario Evans had to do was pull over after he ran a stop sign.

But police told Channel 2 Action News he led them on a high-speed chase, crashed his car and fled the scene. The entire time, his 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old girl were inside the car.

Fairburn police have taken out warrants for Evans who has been on the run since last week’s pursuit.

The 28-year-old blew past a stop light, but when police tried to pull him over, he crashed and ran, police told Channel 2.

“He didn’t have any outstanding warrants, but maybe he thought he did,” Fairburn police Det. Charles Israel said.

A woman was in the car at the time, but she was not charged, the news station reported. It is not known what her connection to Evans is.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fairburn police. Tipsters can also remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org.
