Police are investigating two shootings in northwest Atlanta, including one that left a teenager dead.

The first occurred Sunday at an apartment on Fairfield Place when a man identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as Reginald Edwards, 30, of Atlanta, was found shot to death, police said.

“The victim had multiple defects to his torso and arms consistent with (gunshot wounds),” Atlanta police Officer Kim Jones said.

That shooting happened about four miles west of the second shooting that killed Dylan Scott, 18, of Jonesboro. Scott and two friends were approached by three unknown men, Jones said. One of the suspects fired several shots, striking Scott in the back.

Witnesses told police they saw three teenagers, one carrying a backpack, running from the scene on Mayson Turner Road and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard toward Washington Park, according to Channel 2 Action News.
