An accused serial burglar is in jail after several metro Atlanta police agencies found evidence linking him to more than 20 car thefts and home burglaries.
Armani Hickson, 20, was arrested Tuesday, and there are at least three more people on the loose, police told Channel 2 Action News.
“When (Hickson) was apprehended, he also had a gun on him,” College Park police Sgt. Marcus Dennard said Tuesday. “At the same time, he tried to elude officers and even get away.”
Hickson, who recently spent five years behind bars at a juvenile detention center, told Channel 2 he regrets his actions and loves his family, baby and mom.
"I apologize for all the stuff that I did, and it won't happen no more," he said. "I’m a changed man."
Detectives arrested Hickson about noon after tracking him to a Union City motel where he was hiding with his girlfriend, Channel 2 reported. Authorities are questioning the woman, identified as Alisha McDaniel.
“She’s been seen with him in a lot of these crimes,” Dennard said. “They think they’re untouchable.”
Police recovered stolen keys, credit cards, guns and drugs in Hickson’s motel room, authorities said.
An unidentified man was also in the room at the time of Hickson’s arrest, Channel 2 reported. It’s unclear if he is involved in the alleged crimes.
