A speeding stop on I-85 in Franklin County led to two arrests and evidence in connection with burglaries in the Roswell area, according to a media report.

Cash and property were turned over to Roswell investigators when they went to Franklin County on Wednesday, the Athens Banner-Herald reported. Also, deputies making the stop found two steel safes that belonged to businesses in the Roswell area.

Two men from Delaware, both convicted felons, are facing several charges in connection with the incident, the paper reported. They were in jail Friday without bond.

A stolen gun was found near the passenger and a roll of money was found on the driver, the paper reported.

Franklin County is about 85 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
