A 17-year-old wanted in connection with a shooting that left a 7-year-old Macon boy in critical condition also fired shots at the boy’s brother, deputies said.

Kentrellis Davreon Barnes of Macon allegedly fired into a car and shot 7-year-old Edgerin Wallace on Saturday afternoon outside the family’s home, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Before the shooting, Barnes allegedly fought with 18-year-old Shedderck Wallace, the 7-year-old’s brother, and two others.

Shedderck Wallace told his mother, Shatoya Jackson, that Barnes shot at him outside their Woolfolk Street home, deputies said.

That’s when Jackson decided to drive to Fulton Street, where she found Barnes. Barnes allegedly threatened Jackson, who was in the car with her boyfriend and Edgerin Wallace, and opened fire on the car.

Edgerin Wallace was struck by a bullet as Jackson tried to drive away. She took him to a nearby hospital and doctors transferred the boy to Navicent Health Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Monday morning.

Warrants were issued for Barnes on criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault and cruelty to children charges, deputies said.

He is described as 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with twists in his hair. The photo deputies shared is from 2016 and does not show his current hair style.
