A movie special effects technician was found dead in a DeKalb County apartment, authorities said.

Joseph Livolsi was found with gunshot wounds in his right rib cage, chest and head in an Eastwyck Village apartment on Saturday, according to a police report. His cousin and another relative discovered the body in an upstairs hallway.

The cousin had been over a friend’s home earlier in the day when he returned to the apartment with the relative, police said.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary on the outside, the cousin told police.

“Once he opened the door,” DeKalb police officer J. Polanco wrote in the report, “he immediately noticed … a speaker was thrown down to the floor and his Xbox console had been removed from the TV stand.”

He walked upstairs and found Livolsi in the hallway.

Frightened by the scene, authorities say the cousin dropped the relative at his home and drove to a police station to alert officials.

One witness told police he heard noise from the apartment about 11 p.m. and what later sounded like firecrackers. The witness said he looked out his window and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Livolsi was scheduled to start on a new project but never showed up for work, according to the report.

He had been in the film industry since 1997, according to his IMDb page. His recent credits include “Rampage” and “The Fate of the Furious,” both starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Livolsi has also completed work on several Marvel films, including “Captain America: Civil War” and “Ant-Man.”
