A Chamblee woman missing since October is likely in danger, a police officer told Channel 2 Action News.

No charges have been filed in connection with the disappearance of Cecilia Bustamante, 42, the station reported. But suspicions are strong that something bad has happened to her.

“I think that she is in grave danger or worse,” Capt. Ernesto Ford of Chamblee police said.

Police said they searched her house and found personal belongings in a safe.

“Her credit cards, bank card, ID, passport” were found, Ford said.

And Ford said Bustamante’s husband, who declined to speak to WSB, did not report her missing and showed “total lack of concern for his wife and the mother of his child.”

A friend also is concerned.

“I cannot imagine her walking away from Alex (her 7-year-old son),” Mary Kemzura told Channel 2.
