Four Douglas County middle school students were arrested on gun possession and drug sales charges, the sheriff’s office said Monday afternoon.

A tip led Deputy Ryan Quibell, a school resource officer at Chestnut Log Middle School, to a student who brought a loaded gun to school Wednesday, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Jesse Hambrick said in a news release.

The 14-year-old boy also had marijuana packaged for sale, Hambrick said. His name was not released because he is a minor.

On Thursday, three more boys were caught trying to distribute marijuana at school and were arrested.

Hambrick said all four boys had previously been involved with drug distribution and all four were charged in connection with the gun possession.

They face multiple charges related to selling drugs on school grounds, possession of a firearm and RICO, meaning the boys were charged in connection to organized crime.
