Officers responded to the shooting about 7:30 p.m. Sunday outside a Motel 6 on Chamblee Tucker Road near Chamblee, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

According to police, a woman was with the victim at the time of the shooting.

They were getting out of their vehicle in the motel parking lot when someone they knew confronted the man and started shooting, Campbell said.
